WHERE TO TRAVEL IN MARCH

As the southern Mediterranean begins to warm and schools remain in session, February is perfect for an adults-only escape. Long-haul destinations offer great availability, the slopes remain reliably snowsure, and if time is short, a midweek or long weekend in a European city promises culture without the crowds.
The best countries to visit in mARCH

Val D`Isere
Sunny skies and high-altitude skiing make March in the Espace Killy a dream. The north-facing slopes hold their snow beautifully, and with a little luck, you might even wake up to a fresh dusting. Once the school holidays end and the crowds disappear, you’ll have nearly 300km of pristine pistes almost to yourself.

Morocco
Venture to Morocco’s souks, mountains, and deserts before the peak season begins. March brings mild temperatures, perfect for exploring Marrakech and soaking in the first signs of spring. The Rif and Atlas Mountains, as well as the Sahara, are wonderfully atmospheric now — just remember to pack something warm for the cool desert evenings.
Barbados
Indulge in a dose of Caribbean luxury and sunshine. With temperatures in the low 30s and the festive crowds long gone, March brings better value and blissful calm. Dolphins migrate to the island’s warm waters, while the surf rises on the east coast — it’s competition season for the world’s best. Hire a car and uncover Barbados’ quieter coves and scenic viewpoints.

Ask any Italian, and they’ll tell you March is the best time to ski in the Dolomites. The days are longer, the snow coverage excellent (and if not, the snowmaking here is superb). It’s the perfect month for ski safaris — and when conditions allow, for tackling the thrilling couloirs around Cortina.

Lech
With heavier than average snowfall, Lech is one of the best places to ski in March. The north-facing slopes of Warth promise excellent coverage, while the famous White Ring circuit remains blissfully uncrowded.
