Cyprus

Soak up the tail end of the European sun on this stunning Mediterranean island. Temperatures can still climb into the mid to late 20s, and the sea remains warm enough for swimming. Explore the Troodos Mountains on a jeep safari, visit the Greco-Roman amphitheatre at Kourion, learn to sail, or simply relax on the beach and top up your Vitamin D.

Turkey

You’ll still enjoy balmy temperatures this month in Turkey – perfect for sightseeing and sunbathing alike. Combine a few days in Istanbul, combing the bazaars and visiting the cultural sites, then head to the otherworldly destination that is Capadoccia. Or, just make your way straight to the beach.

Morocco

An ideal family destination, combining culture and adventure, as well as incredible food. Dive deep into the souks of Marrakech, then head into the Atlas Mountains for some hiking, or the desert for a luxury Berber experience. The days are warm, and the nights can be chilly – but the stargazing is incredible.

Mauritius

October is the driest month on this Indian Ocean island, making it ideal for a pre-winter sun escape. Expect temperatures in the high 20s and warm, pleasant evenings. Explore the island’s interior, catch some waves, and experience the vibrant Diwali celebrations and Festival of Lights.
