As the nights draw in and winter approaches, November is perfect for topping up on some much-needed Vitamin D with a couples-only escape. It’s an ideal month for exotic long-haul destinations, ticking off those bucket-list experiences, or even creating an entirely new one – here are some inspiring ideas.

The best countries to visit in November

Bali

November sits between the dry and wet seasons, offering warm days with only the occasional brief shower. Even better, it’s one of the quietest times to visit the island. Explore Pura Ulun Danu Bratan Temple, cycle past lush paddy fields, wander through Ubud’s art market, and sample the street food. On the 25th, the sacred art of shadow puppetry is celebrated during Tumpek Wayang.

For milder temperatures, Morocco in November is extremely comfortable. Days remain warm (though evenings call for a wrap), and the weather is ideal for desert and mountain treks. It’s a lovely time to explore the souks, street markets, and gardens of Marrakech – and all just under a four-hour flight away.

Egypt

With the intense summer heat gone, November offers ideal temperatures for both sunbathing and sightseeing. It’s just the beginning of the peak season, and a good time to see the treasures of one of the world’s oldest civilisations. Combine the pyramids and the temples of Luxor with some beach time on the shores of the Red Sea.

New Zealand

If you have some time to spare, venture to the other side of the world. It’s late spring to early summer in New Zealand, yet still before the peak crowds arrive. The mountains are in full bloom, the fjordland waterfalls are spectacular, walking trails are quiet, and many vineyards host food and wine festivals.

Sailing BVI's

For some fabulous sailing, great anchorages and more chance of getting a pristine beach all to yourself, try to head here before the festive rush. The trade winds are consistent and kind, the waters are warm, and the days long and sunny.

Australia

If you find yourself in the Southern Hemisphere, consider extending your trip to include Australia. It’s shoulder season, with warm temperatures in Sydney and Melbourne—the latter hosting some of the year’s biggest sporting events. Perfect conditions await for epic road trips, and the Whitsundays boast clear blue skies ideal for island hopping. You may need more than two weeks to take it all in…

Dubai

With average daily temperatures around 27 °C, November is an ideal time to visit this Emirate. Whether relaxing by the pool, venturing into the desert, or exploring the iconic sights, there’s plenty to do. The month also features a host of arts and cultural events, including the DP Golf World Tour at Jumeirah.

Cambodia

With the monsoon season over and the dry season beginning, early November is an ideal time to explore. Angkor Wat can be enjoyed without the Christmas crowds—hire bikes to cycle around the vast grounds or take a guided tour to discover the lesser-known temples and surrounding countryside. The month also hosts the Water Festival, when colourful boats fill the Mekong.
